How character is different at the end of the film from when the film began:
At the beginning of the film Russell is trying to better himself as a person he no longer wants to be a part of his drug taking criminal friend group. This is why he trys so hard at work. Russell has had a shady past which we don’t no much about the only information we get about this are brief flashbacks to traumatic time in his teenage years. While at work things start to get better for him but once he feels as if he is being exploited his mental state becomes worse than ever. He starts taking more cocaine and cannabis and he starts to deteriate. He ends up torturing his manager tom and keeping him in the office over night while he’s there he talks and talks about his past and what people have done to him. In this part fo the narrative we see his manager toms usually chipper and strong personality turn to pure weakness and his true self is shown he is understandably scared of Russell’s state. Throughout we see Russell drinking and taking more and more drugs and hurting himself. He ends up keeping tom in the building over the weekend until the early hours of Sunday morning when the police turn up and a hostage situation takes place. Russel lets two police officers into the office where he starts his absolute end over the space of a few hours tom starts to kill himself by beating himself and cutting himself in gruesome and shocking ways the film ends on a Monday morning when Russell eventually dies if I was to make this I would want the audience to feel sorry for Russell and that an injustice has taken place.
Protagonist/Antagonist
Alex De Large.
Film: A Clockwork Orange
Alex De Large is an intrsting character to look at for an example of an antagonist/protagnist as he changes from aoen to the other. In the first part of the film we see him as a man of no morals and no reason for his behavior referred to in the film as “the old ultra violence” which consits of both assault and on two occasions rape. However after being sent to prison he is put through a pioneering scheme, which uses hypnotism too stop him from committing crimes in the future and once he is released he can no longer do these things. He then becomes I ways a protagonist who you feel has been mislead by the government and people then try to help him with his problems.
Neo
The Matrix
In the matrix Neo is a clear protagonist he starts off in the film as a normal office worker who enjoys hacking. However his lif is changed when he finds out that the world he is living is fabricated by robots and is all an illusion. Eh is approached by a group who live outside “the matrix” who suspect he is the person who has been prophesized as “the one” throughout the film he fights with the issue that what he’s been living I all fake and also tries to fight against the robots and “the agents” to save humans from there illusive world.

Introduction to thriller
Of all the genres the thriller is probably the most difficult to define. The main reason for this is the amount of sub genres it has from action thrillers to horror thrillers. The thriller genre is best defined by its approach to the story rather than the story it’s self. A thriller will always have a protagonist which is often a floored character. This character often has something they need to achieve for example stopping a criminal or antagonist. Along the way there will often be danger and a lot of cliff hangers. For example in “the Bourne identity” the film continually builds suspense and it’s always unclear as to what is going to happen next. In thrillers you usually have quite a clear protagonist and a clear antagonist.
There certain editing techniques that are often uses in the thriller genre for example fast cutting and reverse shots fast cutting is usually used in chase scenes and high energy parts of the films. They also use reverse angle shots a lot to create tension and build suspense. But essentially the thriller must excite the viewer or thrill them. They’re often quite adrenaline driven films which give off energy in short sharp bursts after building it up over time to excite the viewer
